河の内: A WALK IN HANOI
Client & Brief:

Common Viet and Vietnamese Week are 2 biggest Vietnamese circles in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan. They want to organize a cultural exchange event to introduce Vietnamese culture to people living in Beppu, Japan.

Theme:

河の内 (kawa no uchi) means “Inside the river”, which also is the Japanese name of Hanoi. Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, has carved its way through history, overcoming everything that has been thrown at it. In this event, a decent image of Hanoi in the 18th and 19th centuries is illustrated through multiple activities.

Target audience:

Beppu citizens from 20 to 40 years old and students in APU.

Challenge:

As 50% of Beppu citizens don’t use social media, we need to access them using other platforms rather than digital.

Solution:

Along with using Facebook, we decided to take print ad as the best way to inform people about this event. We took advantage of our network to add posters on the streets, offices and stations where most of the target audience lived.

Result:

We got hundreds of people coming to our event and received 90,000 Japanese Yen.
